Dr Radenko Šćekić – associate reseracher on the regional project YU HISTORY: MULTIPERSPECTIVE HISTORY OF THE SECOND YUGOSLAVIA

Dr. Radenko Šćekić, senior research associate at the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, is engaged as a research associate on the regional project YU HISTORY: Multiperspective History of the Second Yugoslavia. In addition to Scekic, scientists from the former Yugoslav republics are engaged in the project, including: Tvrtko Jakovina, Mitja Velikonja, Latinka Perovic, Ivo Goldstein, Drago Roksandic, Vladimir Gligorov, Hrvoje Klasic, Srdjan Milosevic, Husnija Kamberovic, Ivan Colovic and others.

The three-year project (2019-2021), which is being implemented with the support of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is a continuation of the previous, also three-year project YU-History. The aim of the project is to contribute to the regional normalization and building of a culture of memory, based on facts, through multiperspectival historical narratives that motivate younger, educated generations to promote reconciliation, democratization and modernization of the entire post-Yugoslav space.

Within the project, Dr. Šćekić will work on the theme: Political relations in Montenegro and the attitude of Montenegrin intellectuals towards Yugoslavia during the 80’s of the 20th century.
