ROBONET project commenced

The University of Montenegro – Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor is participating as a partner institution in the project “Developing an Innovation Network for the Uptake of Robotics and Sensor Solutions to Improve Monitoring and Prevention of Pollution in Freshwater and Marine Ecosystems – ROBONETCBC,” under the Interreg IPA Croatia–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Montenegro 2021–2027 programme. The project’s primary goal is to introduce innovative approaches using robotics and sensor technologies for early warning of pollution in both marine and freshwater systems. By focusing on blue technologies, the project aims to mitigate negative impacts on the region’s marine and freshwater ecosystems while fostering the development of innovative solutions within the Blue Economy. Leveraging scientific expertise and state-of-the-art equipment in underwater robotics and sensing procured through this project will stimulate further progress in environmental protection and management. The project coordinator is the University of Zadar. In addition to the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, project partners include Šibenik-Knin County, the Ruđer Bošković Institute, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Innovation Fund of Montenegro.
